Hang Glide Interlaken

Let Eddie the Eagle or one of the other team members show you the skies over Interlaken.

This was a spur of the moment adventure for me. I was traveling alone and it was raining so I got on the internet, saw if I drove west I would see the sun before noon. I booked a reservation called a friend that lived an hour away to meet me for lunch and jumped in the car.

Zermatt

This is a great village to see the Matterhorn.

There are no cars in Zermatt which is part of the reason it is such a special place and one I can not wait to return to someday. However that does not make it hard to get there. Travel by car or train to Visp, Switzerland and from there you can transfer onto the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn. It is a very scenic train ride so try to do at least one direction during the daylight hours if you can. Once unloaded at the station in Zermatt you can either walk or get a taxi to your hotel. We chose Zermatt for a winter trip so we could get a few days of Swiss Alp skiing in. The Matterhorn made a great backdrop and made every picture look impressive. We did not have great snow conditions on our trip but we made the most of it. Once we made our way up to the summit at 3883 meters we were on the glacier and the conditions were good. You can also enjoy skiing or boarding in two countries, from the top of the glacier you can also ski down into Italy.

The kids beginner ski area is not that high. The kids area is just at the top of Alpen-Metro Funicular in Sunnegga area. This makes drop off to a lesson or watching them get started before you head off enjoying your time on the mountain super easy and convenient. It is also nice for the parent if they are not skiing. The funicular is a great way to get to the drop off point for everyone.

At the end of the day if you want to enjoy Apres Ski head down

Zurich

Corelli Circus

Corelli was exceptional. The venue was in a fantastic location. A beautiful circus tent set up on the water right in the heart of Zurich The one ring venue was small which made for a fantastic view. The designers knew what would warm the hearts of all those being entertained. As you entered you were swept away into the circus theme. Red Velvet and gold trim everywhere with all the treats you could imagine being sold from every possible location. After you dropped your coat you circled around the outside of the stage to your seats. The auditorium seating made everyone in the facility have a great view.

Then the show began. I have seen my share of circuses and even performed in a few and this one did not disappoint. The lighting and music set the mood that took you to a magical place then the performers dazzled you with amazing costumes and routines that were well choreographed and had acrobatic skills that were of a high caliber.

My kids set back in the old wooden chairs as the theater darkened. They ate popcorn by the handful and never took their eyes off the show.
